About Us:
Welcome to Terra One – an exciting-fast growing company focused on developing and operating large-scale battery storage systems in Germany. With a focus on innovation and sustainability, our company is driving forward the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure in order to make a significant contribution to achieving climate neutrality.
Our Mission:
At Terra One, we accelerate the expansion of renewable energy infrastructure by developing and implementing innovative solutions. Our initial focus is on battery storage, a crucial component for establishing a flexible and environmentally friendly power grid. By providing energy when it is most needed, we help improve the reliability and efficiency of the power grid while simultaneously reducing CO2 emissions. Equally important to our mission is our AI-based energy trading in the European market, which works hand in hand with our battery storage solutions.
Our Team:
The energy trading unit is responsible for optimizing assets across all markets, balancing renewables, and proprietary trading. We trade short term power algorithmically in an expanding geographical scope and have a highly technical team of veteran software engineers, leading AI experts and power trading professionals.
Career Opportunity
We’re growing our Development team to support an expanding pipeline of large-scale battery storage projects across Germany. We are looking for a Senior Project Developer (m/f/d) who will take ownership of key development activities, from securing sites and managing permits to building strong relationships with local stakeholders and authorities. In this role, you will play a central part in driving projects from early-stage identification through to ready-to-build status. You’ll work hand-in-hand with landowners, municipalities, permitting specialists, and internal experts to bring projects to life, ensuring every project is developed responsibly, efficiently, and with the community in mind.
Your Responsibility
Lead and coordinate the full project development process for battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Germany, with focus on zoning plans and the associated processes.
Manage land acquisition processes, including site identification, negotiation of lease agreements, and coordination with landowners and brokers.
Drive permitting processes at municipal and regional levels, ensuring timely submission and approval of applications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local authorities, municipalities, and public stakeholders.
Collaborate closely with internal teams (grid, engineering, environmental, and finance) to ensure all development aspects are aligned.
Manage external consultants, such as planning offices, environmental experts, and legal advisors.
Support strategic assessments for new project opportunities and contribute to improving internal development processes and standards.
What We Expect From You
You are a hands-on project developer who enjoys managing diverse tasks, from local stakeholder meetings to contract reviews.
You are comfortable navigating administrative processes and regulatory frameworks while maintaining a practical, goal-oriented mindset.
You have strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and can build trust quickly with landowners, municipalities, and partners.
You are proactive, structured, and motivated by seeing projects move from concept to construction.
You thrive in a dynamic, growing environment and enjoy being part of a collaborative, mission-driven team.
