About this role:
We are currently looking for an Product Design Manager (m/f/d) in Berlin (Hybrid) to work across cross-functional teams, enhancing our cashback experience; white label portals for the largest media publishers in the world (e.g. CNN, LeMonde, Elpais, Business Insider, Focus Online, etc.) and offering Commerce Content solutions such as coupons, deals, shopping recommendations, and reviews. Our ambition is to help consumers to make the best purchase decision.
Our Product Design team is user-centric and discovery-minded, working in an agile and cross-functional environment. Our designers support company OKRs to drive product and tech outcomes by creating foundational design structures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a team of designers working well together to ensure an effective and efficient way of working. Owns their team's deliverables. Encourages and trains the team to make informed design decisions.
- Master the design process and be adept at communicating and presenting the reasoning behind their design decisions.
- Support product decisions by leveraging qualitative and quantitative research insights, and discovering opportunities to improve our product experience in the user journey.
- Lead multiple projects through analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
- Be challenged daily with large and small design problems, contributing significantly to our platforms' future.
- Work with Product Management, Engineering, and stakeholders to craft an experience vision of building impactful user-centered solutions.
- Define team needs (process, tools, best practices, etc.), recommend improvements, implement changes, and communicate solutions to the team to work smoothly and efficiently.
- Engage confidently with senior stakeholders, effectively addressing and solving consumer needs and challenges through innovative design.
- Contribute innovative solutions to customer problems across our product suite, always keeping the consumer at the heart of every solution.
- Be hands-on from conception to production, embracing wire-framing, iterating, and testing as fundamental aspects of your design process.
- Help designers craft their career progression and support them in reaching their goals.
- As part of the overall design community at Atolls, you will participate in talent acquisition, either as an active member of hiring teams and/or as a hiring manager for your own unit.
Your Profile:
- +3 years of experience leading a product design team and 7+ years of experience designing digital products.
- You have experience leading a design team that delivers impactful and elegant solutions that are responsive and scalable.
- You are skilled in mentoring and training your team in decision-making at all stages of the product design process.
- You excel in various design aspects, such as information architecture, user research, interaction design, and cross-platform flows. Adept at incorporating feedback and driving improved solutions.
- You have experience leading research by mastering the balance between quantitative and qualitative approaches. You are able to define a solid research plan and support your team with research methodologies.
- You have strong leadership skills to lead your design team and collaborate closely with product and engineering leads, creating a user-centered vision for your product area.
- You master a broad set of design tools to best solve a problem, such as frameworks for any stage of the product design process and prototype tools such as Figma.
- You are familiar with front-end engineering, understand how your prototypes will be built, and factor that into your solutions.
- You are open to constructive feedback as part of the design process and are confident in clearly explaining your team's design decisions.
- You have strong communication skills to negotiate with your peers and stakeholders and articulate design decisions.
- You are enthusiastic about an iterative design process, embracing the build-test-fail approach as a means to achieve excellence and innovation in product design.
