Tasks
The position is based in Berlin. The OPC in Nickel Germany carries out the risk management and control system, as part of Nickel's overall risk management framework.
The OPC works in compliance with the policies, procedures and internal guidelines issued by the independent control functions (Risk, Compliance and Legal) and in compliance with external regulatory and supervisory requirements. The local OPC is part of the scope of the General Secretary functions and works closely with the OPC Central team on all operational risk issues.
Your main missions are:
Controls and Control Plans:
- Define and update the local control plan (LCP) according to the Business Control Libraries (CCL) and according to the result of the risk assessment, regulations and other risk related events (historical incidents, control results, external events, audit missions, etc.).
- Execute and/or coordinate control plans, enter the results in the dedicated tool and follow up on the remediation action plans defined with the stakeholders.
Action Plans, Recommendations and permanent control actions:
- Where necessary following control results, collaborate with the relevant teams on the identification, creation, follow-up and closing of action plans to ameliorate underlying risks.
- Organize the remediation of findings or recommendations (issued by other functions such as internal audit) and ensure their timely execution.
Identify and assess the Operational Risks:
- Manage the updating of the Risk and Control Self Assessment (RCSA) and its validation by the appropriate hierarchical level: identification and evaluation of processes and significant associated risks, contribution to the definition and monitoring of risk mitigation measures.
- Analyze and identify the needs concerning the taxonomy of risks, the mapping of processes and the mapping of the organization (within local OPC’s scope).
- Ensure consistency between the RCSA and the applicable Control Plan; highlight gaps where necessary
Reporting:
- Management of Historical Incidents: - Collect incidents, analyze them and upload/update it in the dedicated tool
- Fulfill internal and external reporting requirements - control of outgoing regulatory-facing reports, contribution to internal reporting committees
- Lead the presentation of control results to relevant stakeholders on a regular basis
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have the following profile:
- At least 3 years experience in banking or payment industry with an audit, control or assurance function, or process improvement background
- Fluent English and good German skills are mandatory, French is a plus
- Independent, organised, and good at managing own time and competing priorities
- Problem solving & decision-making capacity
- Good at delivering difficult feedback and working with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable; with a high level of ethical integrity
- General knowledge of applicable regulatory framework is a plus
