acemate is building an AI learning & teaching platform for higher and further education institutions. We have strong traction, secured funding and are entering an exciting growth phase. We're looking for a passionate Mobile App Developer (React Native) to drive our product forward and help us scale.

Tasks

What You'll Do

Operating as a Mobile Software Developer and foundational team member, you will act as a primary product owner wielding substantial impact over our user experience and mobile architecture. You will assume complete end-to-end responsibility for the underlying systems driving our mobile capabilities, ranging from state management and UI architecture to performance monitoring and API integration.

• Develop the core product, beyond just the UI: You will assume absolute accountability for every feature you create. This involves crafting seamless user flows, handling complex local state, and guaranteeing a highly responsive, native-feeling performance. You construct it, deploy it, and iterate upon it.
• Engineer for intelligence and scalability: You will blueprint highly scalable mobile architectures (utilizing contemporary paradigms such as MVVM or TCA) that connect seamlessly with our Effect-based backend and AI systems. You will navigate the intricacies associated with real-time synchronization, offline-first logic, and streaming AI responses.
• Champion technical excellence: You will actively seek out and resolve performance bottlenecks—such as render cycles and app startup time—while simultaneously elevating standards for maintainability, type safety, and UX consistency throughout the complete codebase.

Requirements

What We're Looking For

• Strong experience with TypeScript & React Native.
• End-to-End Ownership: You don’t throw things over the wall. You own your features until they are running successfully in production and used by real learners.
• Startup experience: You’re comfortable in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Balanced AI approach: You knew how to code before Cursor and Claude Code, but understand how to leverage them effectively
• Product passion: High identification with our mission to transform education
