The Opportunity

We're seeking a visionary Head of Engineering to join as a foundational technical leader during our next phase of explosive growth.This is a unique opportunity to architect and scale a platform that directly accelerates the global energy transition.

You'll take ownership of a platform that's already facilitating renewable energy financing and transform it into an enterprise-grade system ready for massive scale. This role combines the excitement of early-stage impact with the resources and backing of a well-funded company addressing one of the world's most critical challenges.

As our Head of Engineering, you'll be instrumental in:

• Create technology with purpose. With every sprint you bring meaningful improvements to people’s lives, support our climate goals, and make sustainable energy more accessible.
• Architecting for hypergrowth: Design and implement scalable systems architecture to support our expansion from thousands to hundreds of thousands of transactions
• Building a world-class engineering team: Scale from our small current lean team, establishing engineering culture, processes, and standards that attract top talent
• Enhancing our automation capabilities: Evolve our risk management and loan processing systems to handle increasing transaction volumes with sophisticated automation and AI-driven insights
• Establishing technical excellence: Implement comprehensive testing, monitoring, security, and DevOps practices that exceed the rigorous standards required in financial services
• Driving climate impact: Every system you build directly enables more renewable energy installations, contributing measurably to global CO2 reduction
• Leading technical strategy: Work directly with founders and investors to shape product direction and technical decisions that will define our competitive advantageModernizing our stack: Guide the evolution of our technology platform to leverage cutting-edge tools and frameworks that enhance developer productivity and system performance

Qualifikation

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of scaling platforms to handle high-volume, mission-critical operations
• 3+ years of technical leadership experience, ideally scaling engineering teams in highly regulated environments (FinTech, banking, lending, compliance-heavy industries)
• Full-stack expertise with strong opinions on architecture, security, and scalability. Our current stack includes Node.js, React.js, TypeScript, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and AWS
• Regulatory and compliance experience - you understand what it takes to build systems that handle sensitive financial data and meet strict compliance requirements
• Hands-on leadership style - comfortable coding alongside your team while also mentoring, hiring, and setting technical direction
• Investor and stakeholder management experience - you've navigated due diligence processes and can articulate technical strategy to non-technical stakeholders
• Growth mindset - you thrive on scaling challenges and building systems that can handle exponential growth
• Climate passion (preferred) - you're motivated by the opportunity to accelerate renewable energy adoption through technology
