We’re currently looking for an experienced Freelance React Engineer (m/f/x) to support our Product team during an exciting phase:
the migration of our frontend from Ember.js to React, combined with a broader redesign.

Start: as soon as possible
Location: remote within Europe
Setup: freelance / contract

You’ll work closely with our small, senior Product & Engineering team.

Tasks

As a Freelance React Engineer, you’ll actively shape the future of our frontend and help us deliver a modern user experience.

You will:

• Take a key role in our Ember.js → React migration
  (React, Tailwind, TanStack Router, Capacitor.js)
• Rebuild existing product features in React as part of our frontend migration and redesign
• Work closely with Product, Design and Backend Engineering
• Continuously improve, refactor and stabilize existing code
• Contribute to frontend architecture and technical decisions
• Support an agile, pragmatic delivery process

Requirements

• Strong, hands-on experience with React and modern frontend development
  (hooks, state management, component architecture, performance, testing)
• Proven experience building production-grade React applications
• Solid knowledge of the modern frontend ecosystem
  (Tailwind, TanStack, REST APIs, Vite/Webpack, Legacy Ember, etc.)
• Ruby on Rails and JSON:API experience is a plus
• Ability to work independently and communicate clearly in a remote setup
• Based in Europe (for collaboration & time zone alignment)
• Fluent in English (German is a plus, not required)
• Interest in AI-powered tools to improve development workflows is a bonus
