WHAT YOU DO
Social media is constantly changing the way people communicate – and how brands and creators operate in this space. We believe there is enormous untapped potential in social media data. As Global Analytics Lead, you are the one who unlocks it.
You set the global standard for what data analytics looks like at SAMY. You lead a small, international analytics team, work closely with the Data Product Manager and the Global Data Engineering Lead – and make sure that data translates into real business decisions.
Many brands measure sentiment or engagement rate – but why, exactly? That's the question you love asking. And you have the answers.
Core Focus
- You define what data analytics looks like at SAMY on a global level – connecting analytical expertise with social media knowledge, client needs, and business impact
- You lead a small global analytics team and roll out jointly developed products to local markets
- You work with the Data Product Manager to define the roadmap for our internal data products
- You support the onboarding of users onto our analytics products and ensure everything is well documented
- You bring a data-first mindset to the entire agency – proactively and with inspiration
- You develop ways to commercialise our data offering and ensure our analytics services are represented in the wider commercial proposition
- You work closely with the Global Data Engineering Lead – they build the foundation, you define what we build upon it
Additional Responsibilities
- You uphold the integrity of the data – even when clients think they want something different
- You support commercial teams in talking to clients about analytics in an empowering and convincing way
- You develop your team – not just technically, but also in their ability to present and represent their work clearly and with impact
- You collaborate with our Research & Insights team to enhance their strategic research with our more automated reporting frameworks
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED
- 4–7 years of experience in research, digital analytics, insights, or market intelligence – with a clear focus on social media data
Strong visualisation skills – especially with Looker
- Solid knowledge of modern market research methods and how social media data fits within that landscape
- Experience managing a team
- An inquisitive, critical mindset – and the drive to not just follow best practices, but to define them
Nice-to-have
- Familiarity with R, Python, or SQL and the motivation to apply these for efficiency and automation in day-to-day delivery
- Multilingualism or experience working in multicultural, international teams
- A genuine feel for culture, creator ecosystems, and consumer behaviour
